As Category Buyer you are end-to-end responsible for your own purchasing category. You manage your own set of suppliers and manufacturers called purchase portfolios. Activities which you are involved in include sourcing new technologies, selecting new suppliers and contract negotiation. Next to this you run the Business Review Meetings with suppliers to evaluate the past quarter, you retain the relationship and ensure that the most efficient procurement channels are followed. You monitor the Product Life Cycle of products and components through all phases, starting with the orientation phase, then the project phase and ultimately the series production phase. Through all these phases you aim to translate customer requirements into the Supply Chain to meet optimal conditions and agreements.
