Product Cost Manager

As Product Cost Manager you will be responsible for managing costs of (potential) new products and controlling and optimizing costs of existing products in close cooperation with stakeholders from Sales, Project Management, Development, Sourcing and Product Lifecycle Management. 

The responsibilities include but are not exclusively:

  • Coordinates with Sales, Development, Purchasing and Product Manufacturing to achieve the optimal product and project costs to close the deal.
  • Actual cost of goods sold (COGS) status monitoring.
  • Secure the cost strategy, achieve the target cost and determine the impact of changes on cost in NPI and during product life cycle.
  • Develops should cost analyses to achieve the best-in-class value from the factory and sourcing.
  • Evaluate opportunities with cost savings potential (e.g. value engineering) and pursue the savings by collaborating with Product Manufacturing, Sourcing and/or Development.
  • Make/buy decisions.
  • Supports Sales and Sourcing in negotiations & discussions with customers and suppliers.
  • Presents and reports the cost status of products to Project Director.



  • Bachelor and/or master’s degree in a technical and/or business-oriented field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Economics) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills

  • Experience in engineer and/or supply chain management in business-to-business related technical environment is a must. Good time management, able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Able to deal with ambiguity, has a pragmatic approach and is result oriented

  • Team player with strong communication and influencing skills on various levels in the organization. Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English (Dutch language is a plus)
