About the role: 

In this position, you guide and support a team of Senior Development Architects working across multiple functional domains. You are not a manager — you are a coach, a technical sparring partner, and a gentle yet effective leader who elevates others through experience, empathy, and expertise. 

You leverage your in-depth background as a Development Architect to understand the challenges your colleagues face. With this foundation, you help them make sound architectural decisions, ensure consistency in design choices, and embed high engineering standards across the company. 

Your work has strategic impact: you will co-drive make-or-buy decisions, shape our long-term architecture vision, and align our internal systems with external tooling and interfaces. Together with domain leads, you ensure our technology ecosystem scales efficiently, reliably, and sustainably. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Coach and support a team of Senior Development Architects across multiple domains.  
  • Ensure architectural consistency and high engineering standards throughout internal software systems.  
  • Contribute to long-term software architecture strategy and internal technology roadmaps.  
  • Drive make-or-buy decisions in collaboration with domain leads and business stakeholders.  
  • Oversee integration approaches, design principles, and engineering methodologies.  
  • Align internal systems and processes with external tooling (e.g., CI/CD, event-driven systems, cloud).  
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.  
  • Act as a technical escalation point and thought leader for complex architectural topics. 

Profile

  • Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or Development Architect. 

  • Strong background in designing and reviewing complex software systems. 

  • Experience working in event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). 

  • Experience in leading a team with HR responsibilities 

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps principles, and tooling such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira. 

  • Proficiency in C# and familiarity with automated cloud deployments (Azure or AWS). 

  • Experience delivering software into operational or manufacturing environments. 

  • Comfortable working in agile (Scrum) environments within international, high-tech settings. 

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, Dutch is considered a plus.
