About the role
We are searching for an improvement-driven Maintenance Mechanic (internally called Support Engineer). In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in shaping our factory of the future and a vital role in the production of our high-tech complex solutions. Prodrive’s manufacturing facilities utilize many complex industrial automation solutions, automated test solutions, and various other types of equipment which create our products. Examples are advanced dispensing robot cells, autonomous mobile robots, pick & place machines, and selective wave soldering which all perform manufacturing or logistical automation. The various equipment offers a variety (and often a combination of) mechanics, electronics, and software.
In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for performing planned maintenance and technical troubleshooting on these systems, with the goal of keeping all equipment up and running. In case of machine interruptions or breakdowns that need to be repaired, you will be the first responder on that scene who will get us back on track.
You’ll have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with business leaders at our production sites across the globe. Key responsibilities
- Machinery performance and overall machine health
- Take complete responsibility of the maintenance processes and schedule
- Quick and complete troubleshooting of malfunctioning machinery
- Understand quality goals and how machines can improve the quality of our products.
- Leader in 5S and continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Develop, optimize and improve machinery’s impact on manufacturing processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase quality, efficiency, minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution and documentation.
Profile
A technical education or background is preferred
Lean manufacturing knowledge
Hands-on attitude: you have a proactive and engaged approach, where you actively participate and take actions to address challenges or tasks.
Analytical skills: you can collect, interpret, and apply data to make well-considered decisions, solve problems, and optimize team performance.
Problem solver and decision maker: you are not hesitant to make critical decisions.
Ability to work independently
Practical experience or interest in mechanics, electronics, and software is strongly preferred.
Excellent English communication skills.
Quality-consciousness: knowledge of quality processes in a manufacturing environment.
