About the role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team in Eindhoven. The Product Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in managing the costs of new and existing customer designed products within our Manufacturing services program, collaborating closely with stakeholders from Sales, Project Management, Development, Sourcing, Product Lifecycle Management and Industrialization.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive cost optimization initiatives, internally and towards our customers, and contribute to the success of our Manufacturing services projects and products.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Development, Purchasing, and Product Manufacturing to achieve optimal product and project costs, ensuring competitiveness in the market.
- Monitor the actual cost of goods sold (COGS) status throughout the lifecycle and implement strategies to optimize costs throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and execute cost strategies, achieving target costs and assessing the impact of changes on cost during new product introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle management.
- Conduct should-cost analyses to drive value optimization in factory and sourcing processes.
- Provides insight for project teams with regards to identifying and executing cost-saving opportunities and to challenging and selecting cost-effective solutions and value engineering
- Provide support to Sales and Sourcing teams during negotiations and discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Present and report product cost status to the Development Lead and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Provides input to business line portfolio strategy by recommending improvements.
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a technical and/or business-oriented field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Economics, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in engineering and/or supply chain management within a business-to-business technical environment is essential.
Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity with a pragmatic approach and a focus on achieving results.
Excellent team player with strong communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
