Versatile, high-performance servo drives
Servo drives incorporate high-accuracy amplifiers that continually compare a feedback signal representing load, speed, position, acceleration, or torque against an expected value and adjust the motor accordingly. generates an error signal to correct the load. Precision motor control demands fast and accurate feedback across the entire velocity, position, and power range.
Our high-performance servo drives, including 200 kHz PWM versions, feature ultra-low noise and up to 24-bit current sensing resolution with high linearity. These capabilities enable positioning within a few nanometers and constant velocity with extremely low jitter.
These servo drives are ideal for applications ranging from semiconductor metrology and lithography to electronics manufacturing, and precision robotics. The drives control any motor type, including servo motors, such as 3-phase linear or brushless rotary motors, 2-phase stepper motors, and single-phase motors like voice coils and brushed DC motors.
All drives can operate as a SubDevice using one of Prodrive’s EtherCAT motion controllers or third-party EtherCAT controllers. Additionally, some models offer stand-alone operation with an integrated motion control.
Each drive supports multiple encoder types, including quadrature and 1Vpp analog incremental encoders, digital Hall sensors, and multiple absolute encoder protocols (EnDAT 2.2, Hiperface, SSI, and BiSS-C). The drives are compatible with single or dual-loop feedback and are CoE (CAN over EtherCAT) compliant, adhering to CiA402 standards.
Three servo drive families are available:
All drives can be programmed and tuned to the application using our advanced PMP® (Prodrive Motion Platform) software. PMP is based on our extensive experience in motion control across numerous industries and customers and is widely used by high-end motion industry players. With Cygnus drives, you have maximum flexibility to modify any control loop to suit your application needs. The MATLAB® and Simulink® integration tools allow custom control algorithms to be combined with Cygnus’s internal controller for better optimization.
