What is the Challenge?
As a Compliance Engineer at Peblar, you will join our technical team, dedicated to navigating the complex and evolving regulatory landscape for electric vehicle chargers. Together with our Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that our EV charging products meet the latest EU and national requirements, from product development through to its connection to the electricity grid. In this role, you will interpret, analyze, and apply a broad spectrum of regulations and standards, providing compliant solutions that enable market access.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Interpret and analyze applicable standards and regulations relevant to our EV charging systems for the European market, including EN IEC 61851, EN IEC 62052-11, and IEC 62955, amongst others.
- Develop and coordinate certification strategies for our EV charging systems including (software) interfaces and accessories.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for discussions with external testing laboratories and Notified Bodies regarding certification and compliance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the product development and product management teams, working closely with our designers and engineers to ensure compliance is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle driving innovation within regulatory boundaries.
- Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks and clearly communicate findings to cross-functional teams, translating complex requirements into actionable guidance.
- Prepare, review, and maintain compliance-related documentation, including technical files, test reports, and product declarations.
- Monitor, track, and report on regulatory and standard changes related to the EV charging industry.
Profile
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in a regulatory, standardization, testing or certification role.
Strong understanding of European and International standards and their application, (e.g. IEC. ISO, CENELEC, ETSI)
Experience in navigating complex and ambiguous compliance requirements with the ability to simplify and effectively communicate information
Your skills and attributes include high attention to detail, an affinity for compliance, analytical, collaborative, decisive, and adaptability.
Familiarity with the EU legislative and harmonized standards process is a plus.
Familiarity with certification processes and testing methodologies for consumer electronics is a plus.
Knowledge and experience in the EV charging industry is a plus.
