About the role
As a Product Cost Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the cost aspects of product introduction and series manufacturing. You ensure that product cost calculations are accurate, transparent, and aligned with the requirements of our Manufacturing Services business line. By providing cost insights, analyses, and forecasts, you support internal stakeholders in understanding the cost-effectiveness of our business cases and help drive strategic decisions.
You proactively manage cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to improve cost structures across our product portfolio. Your ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams ensures that new product introductions are based on solid cost foundations.

Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of cost estimation for new and redesigned products by creating reliable and accurate Cost Breakdowns, leveraging input from cross-functional teams and standardized templates.
- Dive into the product portfolio and Bills of Materials to uncover cost drivers and gain a clear understanding of current cost structures.
- Lead initiatives to find and implement cost-saving opportunities, aiming to proactively counteract inflationary pressures and improve overall profitability.
- Develop and maintain insightful tools and reports that track costs at various levels—ranging from component costs to product margins—helping guide business decisions.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to ensure cost information is transparent, understandable, and actionable.
- Continuously refine and improve cost calculation methods and models to support scalable and efficient cost management across projects.
Profile
Bachelor and/or master’s degree in a technical and/or business-oriented field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Economics) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills
Experience with Excel, Power BI, and SAP.
Understanding of BOM structures, electronic/mechanical components, and manufacturing methodologies.
Analytical mindset and experience in building cost models, forecasts and dashboards.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with cost breakdowns and should-cost analysis of (mechanical) parts.
Structured, detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing responsibilities.
Professional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
