About the role:
We bring innovation to the market by developing and industrializing advanced technologies. Within System Assembly, NPI plays a crucial role: it is the bridge between R&D and Series production. You will be one of the key roles in this new way of working. You are ultimately responsible for all ongoing NPI projects within Assembly, including planning, progress, technical status, risks, and alignment between R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Work Preparation and the Assembly teams.
You transform the department from output driven to project driven, based on:
• Stage gate structure (SG3 → SG6)
• Technical deliverables instead of production orders only
• Transparent status overviews and milestones
• Strong collaboration with development teams
• Consistent project reporting towards Assembly Management Team and Business Lines
You ensure that NPI Assembly delivers predictably, in a controlled manner, and first time right.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & StageGate Ownership:
- Leadingall NPI projects within Assembly in line with the new NPI strategy
- Setting up projects with clear deliverables, owners, risks, dependencies, and timelines
Technical Status Monitoring:
- Taking Ownership of the technical status of all ongoing NPI projects within Assembly
- Collecting technical progress and blocker information from Work Preparation Engineers, Proto Technicians, ME, and Quality
Coordination between R&D → NPI →Series Production:
- Actively steering on a controlled handover from Development to NPI and from NPI to LCM/Series production
- Ensuring early alignment on design changes, manufacturability, testability (DFX), and product risks
Planning & Predictability:
- Replacing the traditional 2-week production planning with a project planning including milestones and technical deliverables
- Safeguarding parallel project capacity: materials, tooling, test setups, WPE capacity, and proto technician allocation
Risk Management:
- Identifying technical, planning, and quality risks at an early stage
- Driving “first time right” deliveries in Proto and 0Series builds
Reporting & Communication:
- Presenting project status to Assembly Management Team and Business Lines
- Ensuring a recognizable and uniform reporting format for all NPI projects
