About the role
Prodrive Technologies is a leading provider of electronic assemblies, specializing in high-quality PCB manufacturing and assembly services. We are committed to delivering reliable products through precision, innovation, and teamwork.
We are seeking a skilled SMT Technician to join our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production line team. This role is responsible for order/component preparation, machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting/maintenance of SMT equipment and associated process steps within PCBA manufacturing. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality electronic assemblies are produced efficiently and on schedule.
We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys hands-on work, can follow instructions accurately, and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the timely completion of PCBA orders to sustain production operations
- Prepare and verify components, load feeders, and stage materials for production
- Set up and operate SMT manufacturing equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection equipment
- Accurately follow manufacturing procedures while adhering to IPC and quality standards
- Escalate production and equipment issues to the department Team Lead and support team as needed
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of SMT equipment
- Report directly to the Production Team Leader and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in cross-training on all equipment and sub-processes within the SMT department
Profile
High School diploma or equivalent
Legally authorized to work within the United States
Strong personal responsibility and accountability
Enjoys hands-on work with products, tools, and machinery
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to follow work instructions consistently and accurately
Comfortable using computers for daily tasks
Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality and results
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Eagerness to learn and take initiative
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (below)
Prior hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment or machinery (SMT equipment, automated production lines, complex machinery)
Experience in SMT-specific manufacturing or other high-paced production environments
Experience with AOI, X-ray inspection, or similar quality verification equipment
Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Experience working in a 5S and electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe environment
Prior soldering or rework experience or familiarity (SMT/through-hole, IPC/J-STD knowledge a plus)
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards
