About the role
Prodrive Technologies is a leading provider of high-quality PCB manufacturing and assembly services. Our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department plays a critical role in delivering reliable electronic assemblies, powering industries from medical devices to clean energy and automotive.
We’re seeking an SMT Technician to join our growing Surface Mount Technology (SMT) team. You will be responsible for component preparation, machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting/maintenance of state-of-the-art SMT equipment. This role ensures PCBA assemblies are produced efficiently, on schedule, and to IPC and quality standards.
We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys hands-on technical work, pays close attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.


Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and verify components, load feeders, and stage materials
- Set up and operate SMT equipment (screen printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens, inspection systems) at high efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Follow all procedures and IPC/quality standards
- Escalate equipment or process issues to the Team Lead
- Report to the Production Team Leader and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Cross-train on equipment and processes to support flexibility
Profile
High School diploma or equivalent
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Strong accountability, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
Comfortable using computers for daily tasks
Enjoys working hands-on with tools, machinery, and equipment
Ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting
Strong communication skills (English); eager to learn and take initiative
Passionate about technology
Responsible for your tasks and take initiative.

Detail-oriented and result-driven.
Preferred Skills (below):
Experience with SMT machinery, production lines, or inspection equipment (AOI, X-ray)
Prior SMT or fast-paced manufacturing experience
Familiarity with MES, 5S, and ESD-safe environments
Soldering or rework experience (SMT/through-hole; IPC/J-STD a plus)
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards
