Compact Arcas motor controllers handle up to 12 synchronized axes at10kHz
Electronics manufacturing and medical applications routinely have to drive multiple motor axes. That calls for motion controllers with a range of network connections to ensure they can work with the huge number of servo drives and motors on the market.
Our compact Arcas motion controller can synchronize 12 motor axes at 10 kHz for industrial, die-packaging, AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), and medical imaging and treatment systems.
The 64-bit Quad Cortex-A53 superscalar processor has a Gigabit Ethernet interface to link to a host computer that will hold the application and communicate with the controller via the PMP software API. There is one EtherCAT® bus available for communication with EtherCAT servo drives and I/O modules, two high-speed RS-422 compatible position-based trigger outputs and eight general-purpose 24V I/O lines increasing versatility.
Arcas is the most cost-effective controller in the market that offers 10 kHz update rate and full flexibility. The unit can be panel or DIN rail mounted. It features IEC 61000-6-1 (EMC immunity) and EN 55011 EMC (emissions compliance) in addition to IEC 62368-1 (electrical safety) compliance, and 10+year lifecycle support.
MATLAB® and Simulink® integration
The controllers can be programmed and tuned to the application using our advanced PMP (Prodrive Motion Platform) software. PMP is used by many players in the motion industry. It offers true real-time performance and tooling, and the flexibility to modify any control loop to your application needs. The MATLAB® and Simulink® integration tools allow the designing and implementation of any custom control algorithm.
