About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced IT Engineer with expertise in virtualization and datacenter design to join our dynamic team. As an IT Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative virtualization solutions and optimizing datacenter architectures.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualization solutions utilizing technologies such as VMware.
- Design and optimize datacenter architectures, considering factors such as network connectivity, power distribution, cooling, security, and scalability.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of virtualized environments to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to determine the most suitable virtualization and datacenter design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with users to understand their business needs, propose appropriate virtualization and datacenter solutions, and deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and procure hardware, software, and infrastructure components for virtualization and datacenter projects.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and guidelines, to ensure seamless operation and knowledge transfer.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (2+ years) as an IT Engineer, specializing in virtualization and datacenter design.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
In-depth understanding of datacenter design principles, including network architecture, power distribution, cooling, security, and scalability.
Familiarity with server hardware, including rack-mount and blade servers.
Experience with storage technologies, such as SAN, NAS, or object storage, and their integration with virtualized environments.
Proficiency in scripting and automation languages, such as PowerShell or Python, for task automation and management of virtualized environments.
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions in virtualized environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization and datacenter issues efficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
