Mechanical manufacturing

We use the latest mechanical manufacturing processes, realizing efficient manufacturing combined with superior output quality. We do this by maximizing robotics and by continuously monitoring and optimizing our processes. We understand that the best products need to be manufactured in a world-class manufacturing facility.

We use our mechanical manufacturing processes to produce components used in our products, systems and machines as well as for production tooling, injection molding tooling and test systems.

Many of the mechanical components used in our products, automation projects and test systems are being manufactured in-house. In our machine park, the most state-of-the art equipped is available for:

  • 5, 4 & 3-axis milling
  • Pipe bending and forming
  • Turning
  • Wire EDM
  • Deburring & cleaning
  • CMM measurements

All machines are automatically programmed via our Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system. This reduces the amount of manual labor and increases the reuse of proven strategies, parameters and tooling. Manufacturing is done in an environmentally controlled production area to ensure the highest tolerances can be achieved.

Quality control is done via in-process probing during milling and automated Coordinated Measuring Machine (CMM) measurements on batches or single pieces to ensure quality while manufacturing high tolerance parts.


Tool shop

Our machining equipment is used for manufacturing of components used in our products as well as for the manufacturing of tools used in our factories.

Within Prodrive Technologies we develop all our tooling for AET testing, functional testing, injection molding, (semi-) automated assembly and robot solutions by ourselves. The combination of in-house product development, tooling development, machine programming and manufacturing allows us to create an optimum balance between all these aspects resulting in the highest quality, shortest lead times and most cost-efficient solutions.

From a risk management perspective, this gives us a unique positions with regards to availability and uptime of tooling. In case of an incident, the spare parts or the complete tool can be re-produced within days. Additional tooling for a scale-up in capacity or global redundancy can be made within weeks, resulting in the highest flexibility for our customers. 

Injection molding

An overview of our injection molding capabilities to be able to produce all product we need for our in-house assembly:

  • Range of machines from 60 tons till 600 tons able of producing products from 2 grams up to 2,5kg
  • Electrical injection molding machines until 400T for high precision injection molding
  • Central drying system with automated coupling to injection molding machines, to guarantee availability of dry material and quality of parts
  • Automated Pad printing and foam gasket dispensing solutions that do not need manual handling for production

From a quality and productivity perspective, it is important to run injection molding equipment 24/7. We developed an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) in combination with bin warehouse system to be able to store the products to ensure non-stop production in a “lights-out factory”.


Additive manufacturing processes

At Prodrive Technologies we strongly believe that investing in the newest technologies for manufacturing is the way to further long-term success. To explore the possibilities for these new technologies we must use these technologies in a somewhat unorthodox way. We have state-of-the-art equipment for 3D printing both metal and plastics and use this for prototyping and high complex designs, as well as for (injection molding) tooling and low to mid series production up to several hundred pieces per year.

We build products with the following materials:

  • Tool steel
  • Titanium
  • PA12 (Nylon)

Using the newest technologies make it so that we do not have to compromise with respect to mechanical, thermal and chemical properties. Lead times only in days gives us the highest flexibility to support our projects, production and customers in the best way possible.
