Prodrive Kubernetes Services (PKS) is a platform that allows users to easily deploy and manage containerized applications. It is an extension of Prodrive Centralized Management (PCM) which is used for managing many devices.
Tasks like provisioning a cluster, configuring persistent storage, and creating workloads are done only in a few clicks using the PKS web interface.

At Prodrive we design and develop our in-house applications ourselves. This helps us to automate and facilitate various internal processes in the best way possible. The job applications management system started as an internship project and is now an important part of our human resource management system.

In the Industrial Automation program, there are several projects working towards our goal, such as the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), an in-house developed Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and automated test environments.

The Rotating Motors and Actuators product line focuses on cutting edge motoring and actuating solutions. We develop advanced technology solutions for the automotive, industrial and medical markets, which ranges from high speed motors and generators (such as electrically assisted turbochargers and blower applications with active magnetic bearings) to high precision or high speed rotating actuators.
Interconnecting devices through the Internet to collect data and with this, improve efficiency and optimize usage of the available equipment, that is what Embedded Systems is all about.

We have a long history in the development and manufacturing of high-end motion drives and controllers. Most of these products, are customer specific solutions, tailored to and optimized for a specific application and customer. Over the years the competences of motion control software and motors & actuators have been added to the portfolio, which have led to independent product lines within the program in addition to our existing drives & controllers portfolio.
Over five years ago, we started the development of the Next Generation amplifiers for MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). More recently we introduced state-of-the-art RF (NGRF) Amplifiers to the NG-series portfolio with the aim of dominating the market in this discipline. It is the goal to develop amplifiers with the highest quality and best performance by using the latest technology available. Nowadays, the NGRF portfolio consist of two models, one for a 1.5 Tesla MRI system, and one for 3.0 Tesla.

At the Conventional PCB Assembly Line (CAL) millions of components are sorted, prepared, placed and soldered on PCBs using a mix of (semi)automated equipment. High on the agenda are automation of processes (production and inspection) to deal with the challenges of a steadily increasing product complexity.
Test automation is working on the Prodrive Technologies goal of a Lights Out Factory. The electronic test system supports that goal by providing test equipment with a uniform interface and form factor, so manufacturing lines can easily be configured for the product’s needs. The test equipment includes power supplies, programming modules and measurement tools, all with a common interface to the test system. Combined with other projects, such as an in-house developed Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), we are realizing the goal of a Lights Out Factory.
The high-vacuum linear motors are used in semiconductor production tools. Accuracies of these machines are in the nano meter range. Any disturbance by heat, magnetic field or out gassing in vacuum influences the sensitive processes. Therefore the design and production of the vacuum motors is taken one step further. The motors have strict mechanical tolerances to achieve maximum efficiency and mechanical features are added to make them vacuum compatible. Their magnetic design minimizes the magnetic field at the outside of the motor. All materials are measured and selected specifically for low out gassing in vacuum. The goal of this product line is to deliver high-quality vacuum motors with the right performance for the right price.

AVIDIS is a low latency audio/video distribution solution over IP, applicable for several types of markets and applications. Prodrive Technologies supplies the hardware and the software as an off the shelf product. The video quality is 4K60 and can offer any required communication/control interface. The product is highly configurable to meet all the demands of a customer’s application. Think about KVM, matrix displays, video walls and multi-view applications.
At the Magnetics department, everything from coil winding to encapsulation and magnet gluing happens.
Because this department is relatively new, new products and prototypes are introduced on a regular basis. Lately, the development of the linear motors is going very well, meaning that production will increase as well.
The Advanced Camera Systems product line covers our various types of camera systems. We develop advanced technology solutions in which we integrate different types of sensors ranging from standard to customer specific imagers. This is enabled by our key competences in optics, ultra-high vacuum, precision mechanics, high speed data electronics, and low noise precision electronics. We design with focus on in-house series production. To achieve this, high-end cleanroom production processes are developed within our development teams, where knowledge such as contamination control, imager placement, wire bonding, interferometry, microscopy, and functional testing is combined. Research is currently performed towards the realization of a standard product portfolio of advanced cameras that support existing customers and to create a starting point for new markets.
At the cable department we are making (almost) all the cables what we use inside all the products we make at Prodrive Technologies. We also send cables directly to the customer. The cables we make are varying from small single connections to whole assemblies inside cabinets and big power cables.
System Assembly - the department where all the components come together and where we assemble the end products, starting from “nothing”. At System Assembly we do not only build, but also test and visually check our products. To perform those tasks, we’re using tools, equipment and work instructions. Sometimes, specific products require additional training. This training is part of the development of a Technician at Prodrive Technologies.

Advanced analytics is creating a data science platform within Prodrive Technologies which aids and supplements our colleagues in any way possible. For example, by giving them real time insights in various processes, automating time consuming tasks and involving everyone in our data-driven vision.
The computing systems that Prodrive Technologies develops are used in embedded applications such as image processing, motion control and system control. They process the image data of live X-ray and control the stages of lithography machines that produce the chips in our iPhones. The need for data processing keeps increasing and bigger and bigger systems are necessary to keep up with market demand. Although we also supply single-server applications, we have customers that demand multi-rack systems that exceed 10,000 cores. Every day, we work on solving the challenges to make these systems work easily, efficiently, and reliably.
The transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy for vehicles is happening. The Power Conversion product line Vehicle Electrification is key in this transition, encompassing everything that is required to make vehicles move towards the future. From design and control of full electric HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems to high speed motors supporting fuel cell applications, we are committed to make it happen.
A linear actuator consists of an array of permanent magnets and a three-phase coil unit. These types of actuators are used in highly accurate positioning stages or customer specific systems. Our linear actuators portfolio consists of off-the-shelve and customer specific motors. One of the applications of the linear motor is the so-called MULTI project from our customer ThyssenKrupp.
As urbanization is increasing, buildings are getting higher, wider, and more complex. Traditional elevators just aren’t keeping up. MULTI is a real game changer in the area of elevators. Because it moves sideways too, building design won’t be limited by the vertical alignment of elevator shafts. This allows for more visionary ideas that couldn’t be realized until now. The MULTI elevator reduces the waiting time and is more space and energy efficient. We develop and manufacture the complete propulsion system for this elevator in house!
We are aiming for a fully automatic milling machine area. This means that a robot is placing and taking pallets and product in and out of the machine.
The Makino D500, Matsuura Lumex Avance-25, Hermle C60 and Datron MLCube machines make impossible things possible. High accuracy and large working space gives almost unlimited milling possibilities, which is very useful in our industry. The milling process is finished at the inspection station. Products are tested on a coordinate measuring machine with an accuracy of 0.001 mm. Some of our products save lives, so there is no room for carelessness.
Within Prodrive Technologies, Motion & Mechatronics is the technology program that focuses on the development and manufacturing of linear & rotating electric machines, motion controllers, motion software and integrating all these products in entire mechatronic systems. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including people with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, production process engineering and many more. Power conversion is an important enabling technology for high precision manufacturing equipment for the semiconductor industry. In the product line ‘Litho Power Systems’ Prodrive Technologies develops and produces power supplies and amplifiers in the KiloWatt power range, with very high accuracy and stability, resulting in PicoMeter (10-12 meter) positioning accuracy. The continuous increasing complexity of the manufacturing equipment will not only demand for more power supplies and amplifiers with improved performance, but also for a smaller footprint and higher reliability.
As sales manager, you are globally responsible for Product Sales at Prodrive Technologies. Your activities include international sales and business development and being the linking pin between the customer, internal products, project teams, operations, customer service and legal.
As Product Manufacturing Architect you are responsible for definition, design and qualification of new products manufacturing process on basis of the customer specifications, regulations, standards and product design. Working in project with team of experts, having in mind the global picture, you need to assure that our design is producible with highest efficiency without compromising the quality by developing and using state-of-the-art machinery and processes. You are the driving and most inspiring factor for the manufacturing innovations. While being manufacturing process technical interface towards internal and external stakeholders, you lead in the process related decisions and support design and testing strategy choices. By bringing the product from a concept stage to full series production release, you are the key contributor to the successful realization of every project.
As Service Engineer you are responsible for the execution of the service process. Products that are returned by our customers and which are suspected as defect need to be analyzed in order to come to a diagnosis about the problem. Afterwards the product needs to be repaired, a root cause analysis should be performed and a service report stating the diagnosis, the repair information and the corrective actions needs to be conducted. Besides that, also complex failures from our production department need to be serviced. In order to perform the investigations, you have a state-of-the art tools, test systems and lab equipment at your disposal. The main responsibility of the service engineer is to provide feedback about the root cause of the problem. You are one of the key players in improving overall quality, which is part of our DNA.
As a Sales Manager for region Japan, you the regional responsible for product sales at Prodrive Technologies. You will be working from our regional office in Toranomon, Tokyo and your activities include sales and business development management and being the linking pin between our Japanese customers and our internal products, project teams, operations and legal. In this way, you will be responsible to engage new customers for our highly innovative products in the Automotive, Semiconductor and Medical markets.
As a Technical support engineer for the region Japan, you will be the main technical interface with our Japanese customers, and are responsible to achieve good technical alignment between our development team, and major Japanese customers in the semiconductor, medical and automotive market, during important milestones (product integrations) and technical alignment meetings in the sales and development trajectories of new and on-going projects.
To achieve our goals in creating meaningful technologies that make the world work, we need the best facilities. We try to maintain these in-house as much as possible where certification allows. This means that we are able to maintain a complete plant consisting of buildings, EMC spaces and much more. We achieve this with a varied team in which people with both an electrical and mechanical background come into their own. As we continue to grow, the variation in work will only increase.
Products manufactured by Prodrive Technologies range from smart thermostats and automotive wallboxes to large compute cabinets and gradient amplifiers. To ensure high-quality production, all these products have a final, visual inspection step where each product is inspected before it is packed and shipped to customers. Inspections including presence and anomaly detection are automated using the Keras and Tensorflow deep learning libraries where the classification and autoencoders models are developed and trained in-house. To improve the factory efficiency even more, these techniques will also be applied to factory data such as cycle times and process parameters for the purpose of diagnostics and predictive analysis.
