About the role:

Over de functie

Wij zijn op zoek naar een CAM Programmeur Verspaning. In deze cruciale rol krijg je, in overleg met de planner, een aantal prototypes toegewezen waarvoor je de volledige verantwoordelijkheid draagt gedurende de levensduur van het product.

De producten variëren aanzienlijk op het gebied van verspaningsprocessen, materialen, complexiteit, precisie en machine types. Als CAM Programmeur Verspaning zal je het programma maken met CAD/CAM software Siemens NX. Na het maken van het programma, verifieer je het op de nieuwste 3-, 4- en 5-assige CNC freesmachines van Datron, Hermle & Makino of een van de Star Langdraaiers Star-SW20 & Star-ST20, die volledig zijn voorbereid voor jouw werkzaamheden in samenwerking met technici. Vervolgens controleer je de kwaliteit van het eindproduct met jouw geschreven CMM meetprogramma op een Zeiss Accura, Prismo of O-inspect. Zodra het proces soepel verloopt en de producten binnen specificaties zijn, geef je het product vrij voor serieproductie en ga je aan de slag met jouw volgende prototype. Serieproductie zal vervolgens worden overgenomen door technici.

Wanneer je aan de slag gaat op de afdeling Machining, bekijk je samen met jouw loopbaanbegeleider welke functie het beste bij je past. Dit kan zijn als Work Preparation Engineer (WPE) en Manufacturing Engineer (ME). Als WPE focus je voornamelijk op het programmeren en verifiëren van nieuwe programma's, terwijl je als ME nauw betrokken bent bij nieuwe productintroducties (NPI's) en het ontwikkelen van nieuwe bewerkingstactieken, evenals de optimalisatie van de (lopende) productie.

The ultimate closure of said initiatives will then be monitored and led by the Cost Engineer. Due to the wide scope of this role, it is expected that collaboration between different teams from manufacturing to finance occurs often. The person in this role will also be in the lead for creating and reviewing cost breakdowns for new and existing business.

This role is situated at our rapidly growing US regional headquarters in Canton, MA which is a small but growing team, and will provide many opportunities to interact with all levels of the organization. You will work closely with the US Supply Chain, Finance, and Project Management Team, as well as the global Sourcing team. This is a hybrid position allowing for a flexible schedule whether in the office or at home.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Drive annual cost downs on all facets of the P&L
  • Review bill of materials for cost improvements or component alternatives
  • Review Man & Machine times for manufacturing optimization opportunities
  • Prepare cost breakdown reviews for existing and new business
  • Define associated improvement actions to realize identified cost savings
  • Analyze business and market trends to identify cost savings and avoidance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for opportunity identification and resource allocation
